Clubmark

Tennis Clubmark

The Tennis Section at Poynton Sports Club achieved this prestigious award at the end of September 2009. The presentation was made on Saturday, 17th October, on court at the Club, by the President of the Cheshire LTA, Barbara Bloor.

Club Chairman Trevor Green introduced Barbara to The Sports Club President, Geoffrey Ireland, and to the Clubmark sub-committee of Ken Chance-Larsen, Keith Davies, Tony McAllister and Steve Thompson. Also present were the committee and many members, including juniors and their parents.

What is Tennis Clubmark?

Tennis Clubmark is a club’s opportunity to be recognised for achieving excellent standards. All types of tennis club, with a junior section, are eligible to apply, including traditional tennis clubs, school clubs, tennis programmes based in parks, and those working within the commercial sector.

Achieving Tennis Clubmark means the LTA endorses and supports a club’s tennis programme, policies and procedures, action and development planning, and club management.

The benefits of achieving Tennis Clubmark

  • Recognition for the tennis programmes your club is delivering, and endorsement from the LTA
  • Recognition by Sport England, through a well known national scheme that spans across a number of sports
  • Eligibility to receive LTA funding.
